Menopause Virtual Group Education Event

Are you aged 45 or over and would like to learn more about the menopause and how it can affect your health and wellbeing?

We are pleased to share details of another Menopause Virtual Group Education Event, taking place on:

📅 Wednesday 16 September 2026
🕕 6.00pm – 8.00pm
💻 Online virtual event

The session will provide useful information and education about the menopause and will be clinically supported by Dr Laura Kamali and Dr Samantha English.

The event is open to female patients aged 45 and over who may benefit from learning more about the menopause.

How to register

Patients can register for the event using the https://derwentsidehealthcare.co.uk/news--events provided on the event information. Once registered, you will receive an invitation with details of how to join the virtual session.

Following the education event, patients will also have the opportunity to attend Virtual Group Consultations for further support and discussion.

We are pleased to confirm that our COVID and flu vaccination clinics are now open for bookings, with appointments available from 1 October 2026.

If you are eligible for a COVID and/or flu vaccination as part of the NHS autumn vaccination programme, we encourage you to book your appointment as soon as possible.

Men B Vaccine

🎓🛡️ Are you starting university or college this autumn? Don't forget your FREE MenB vaccine!

If you're 17–18 years old (born between 1 September 2007 and 31 August 2008) and registered with a GP in England, you can now book your MenB vaccination.

✅ Book your 1st or 2nd dose📅 Change or cancel an existing appointment💉 The vaccine is given in 2 doses, at least 4 weeks apart.

🚶‍♀️You can get MenB vaccination at participating pharmacies if you were born on or after 21 July 2001 and are:🎓 Starting university this autumn🏫 Starting some further education colleges as a residential student

🌍 International students, and students from Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands, the Isle of Man, or those travelling abroad to study, are also eligible.

In August 159 appointments were wasted.

We understand that circumstances can change, but if you're unable to attend, please let us know. Even with short notice, your appointment can be offered to another patient who may urgently need it.

Did You Know...?

For Musculoskeletal (MSK) issues such as muscle, joint, tendon, ligament, or back pain, you don’t always need to see a GP first.

You can be seen by a specialist Physiotherapist — an expert in bones, joints, and muscles — who can:

Diagnose your condition
Provide treatment and self-care advice
Prescribe pain relief
Arrange further referrals if needed

Who is this service for?

Patients aged 16 or over who have:

A new MSK condition or flare-up of an existing one (within the last 3 months)
New soft tissue injuries (muscle, tendon, or ligament sprains/strains)
New joint pain or injury
Spinal pain (neck or back)
An acute flare-up of chronic problems such as osteoarthritis
Minor trauma, e.g. a sports injury

How does it work?

Your first appointment will be a telephone consultation with a Physiotherapist, usually within 1–2 days.

📞 To access this service, simply contact the surgery and speak to our reception team.

❗ Important Note:

If you choose to see a GP first and they refer you to physiotherapy, your wait time may be much longer. This is because it will not be classed as First Contact Physiotherapy, which offers faster access.
